Ahmed is an attorney at the Legal Resources Centre and has acted as Director a number of times. His main focus is land restitution, land redistribution and housing and protection of farm workers. He has also gained extensive experience in civil litigation in the Magistrate’s and High Court as well as criminal litigation in the District and Regional Court.
In 1994 Ahmed was appointed a Project Manager in the National Institute for Public Interest Law and Research in charge of Litigation Department responsible for research and writing reports on children’s rights, juvenile justice system, land allocation and constitutional law and workshop co-ordinator on criminal law, civil litigation and labour law.
Ahmed was admitted to the Independent Mediation Service of South Africa (IMSSA) panel as an arbitrator in 1995, trainer in 1998 and mediator in 1999.
Ahmed is based in Johannesburg.
