Profile:

Pearl is an admitted attorney of the Transvaal Law Society as from 1984.She conducted a sole Private Attorney’s practice from 1989 to 1996 of 75% in employment laws. From 1998 to 1999 she was a partner in a distinguished Johannesburg corporate law firm which had a total of not less than 30 partners at any given time.

Thereafter, she pursued the work of a Commissioner as well as Presiding Officer in disciplinary and appeal hearings. Pearl represented both labour and business in the (old) Industrial Court before being a Commissioner and has had reported cases in law book and journals the last one in BLLR.

Pearl has been a Senior Commissioner of the CCMA since 2000 and a former panelist in (AMMSA) IMSSA as from 1997. She sits on several (currently six) Bargaining Councils as a Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator. As facilitator on labour laws, she has trained in SMME’s and big business including a bank, a bus company and CCMA’s newly appointed Commissioners (2010 and 2011). Pearl is also a panellist of the PSCBC, since 2002 to date.

Pearl’s forte is Labour Law and the development of management and labour in dispute prevention and resolution. She also conducts leadership and management programmes. As a legal and health professional she has assisted with programmes on wellness, prevention and management of HIV/AIDS status.

As from the 1990’s to date she has served Labour and Corporates. She also does private work for Government institutions that source out Commissioners from the Public Service Co-Ordinating Bargaining Council. Other beneficiaries are private companies one of them doing work in South Africa and in other countries where she has presided in hearings from 2008 to 2010.

She served her clients during the old order Conciliation Boards, Bargaining Councils, Industrial Court and currently the CCMA and Labour Court.
