Jabulani is a senior commissioner with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA). He manages the Labour Consultancy where he offer training to the corporate sector to enhance harmony in the workplace. The training offered ranges from LRA, BCEA, EEA and Skill Development Act. He also offers legal advice on employment laws, performs investigative tasks in the workplace and presides over disciplinary enquiries.
Jabulani also serves as an arbitrator for numerous bargaining councils.
Jabulani writes opinions and advice in local tabloids to conscientise both the labour market and the corporate sector about the relevant workplace regulations. He was an HR Director specialising in labour law, industrial relations, conflict and dispute handling and psychological counselling.
Jabulani was involved in community mediation as part of the National Peace Accord initiatives between 1991 and 1993. His role involved Shuttle-Mediation between warring political factions of ANC and IFP in Umlazi T-Section (Men's Hostel) and Uganda squatter camp residents in Isipingo and Malukazi.
AFFILIATION WITH PROFESSIONAL BODIES
SOUTH AFRICAN FORUM OF COUNSELLING THERAPISTS - FOUNDER MEMBER serving in the executive committee. SAFCT was established in 1994 to advance the study, development and application of humanistic and psycho-dynamic counselling and psychotherapy. It is an association of trained counselling therapists from multi-disciplinary backgrounds. Members discuss current issues regularly with visiting psychotherapists from London and the continent.
I have in the past chaired some sexual harassment disputes under the auspices of the CCMA in this country and under the auspices of the Medical Foundation for the victims of torture in Camden City in the United Kingdom.
I posses a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling obtained from Roehampton Institute United Kingdom and have worked in the UK as a Psychological Counsellor/ Psychotherapist.
In 1995 Jabulani received extensive training in mediation from Working with Conflict; a Birmingham based private Institution that offered training on Conflict Resolution. Further certificate course on conflict resolution and mediation training was received from Bradford University in the U.K. in the same year.
Whilst in the employ of the Independent Complaint's Directorate (ICD) between 2000 and 2001 Jabulani was requested by the Provincial Division of the South African Police Service (SAPS) to mediate in the taxi operator feud who were violently contesting some taxi routes.
Jabulani is based in Durban.
